How We Help

Family Programs & Activities

Our recreational and therapeutic programs are open to all KWCS families, completely free of charge. They offer children a chance to experience the joys of childhood again, while giving families opportunities to make lasting memories together.

Regular Family Programs

Year-round programming grouped by age, so every child finds their people.

Little Heroes Club

Ages 0–6

Play-based experiences for our youngest members and a welcoming space for parents to connect.

Junior Chefs

Ages 6–14

Building confidence and kitchen skills while exploring fun, new recipes.

Creative Hearts

Ages 6–16

Expressive art and music experiences designed to foster youth creativity.

Ages 15–19

A dedicated space for older youth and young adults to build relationships and explore relevant life topics.

Specialized social and life-skills programming for girls navigating a brain tumour diagnosis.

Seasonal Parties — All Ages

Games, crafts, and festive treats hosted at the Kids with Cancer Society House across Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Family Discovery Day — All Ages

Held in early May, this day brings families together to learn about resources, share experiences, and enjoy fun kids’ programming.

Time to Remember — Early June

A beautiful memorial event supported by bereaved parents to honour and remember the children who have passed.

Camp Beat It — Summer

Held at Camp Nakamun, this is an overnight camp experience for the whole family to bond, relax, and make lifelong memories together.

Summer Day Camps — Ages 6–12

Two themed day camps in July and August packed with games, crafts, and outdoor activities.

The Ken & Paddy Webb Christmas Party — All Ages

Our largest event of the year. Held on the first Sunday in December at the Fantasyland Hotel, featuring entertainment, food, gifts, Santa photos, and an all-access afternoon pass to Galaxyland.

Secret Santa — December

An invitation-only holiday event at the KWCS House for newly diagnosed, recently relapsed, or bereaved families. Children get to choose and wrap special gifts for their family members with the help of volunteer elves.
